Tuesdays 9.30 am to 12.30pm and Fridays 9.30 am to midday

The drop-in sessions are held at The Meadows Children and Family Wing which is part of The Meadows Community Centre on St Catharine’s Road in Cambridge.  Family Support Staff welcome local families offering advice, guidance and support around a wide range of issues. Our Play Worker facilitates play and learning activities for families to enjoy together.

The play incorporates themes including healthy eating, festivals and seasons.  We regularly invite in professionals to share skills and information with families. The drop-ins help to improve social skills and build stronger community cohesion and companionship, helping to improve isolation for many young families living locally.  They help to improve the overall quality of life for each family and build on many opportunities to improve life skills.

Families gain increased access to a wide variety of family support and sign posting to specialist services and professionals where appropriate.  Our work helps to increase the overall confidence of the primary care giver and, in turn, supports the quality of home life for each of the families attending the drop-in sessions.  Our work helps to improve health in its widest sense, closing the gap in the inequalities currently seen amongst families living in and around Cambridge.

We ask for a voluntary contribution of 50p for each family attending, although if you cannot afford this you will still be made very welcome.

Sometimes I arrive at the drop-in feeling low. After I have talked things through I can leave feeling much happier and more confident.
